The inaugural Chaosium Con is happening in Ann Arbor, Michigan in April 2022. Come along for a weekend dripping with cosmic horror, essential runes, swashbuckling adventure, and chivalrous quests!

Location

The first Chaosium Con takes place near Ann Arbor, MI at the Eaglecrest Golf Resort and Convention Center. The venue is just 17 miles west of Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) and directly off I-94. Cab rides from the airport are approximately $40 USD.

Note: There are a limited number of hotel convention rate codes, but we will work to get more.

If the on-site accommodation is full, there are two hotels within each walking distance to the Conference Center that you could consider booking.

The con takes place on Friday, April 8th and Saturday, April 9th. For those getting into town on Thursday the 7th, we’re holding an official Chaosium Banquet that evening (SOLD OUT). Get your convention ticket here.

VIP Sessions

Coming Soon. This is an exceptional opportunity to play at the table with some of Chaosium’s most wildly creative and brilliant creators in sessions for Call of Cthulhu, RuneQuest, Pendragon, Questworlds, Lords of the Middle Sea, Hawkmoon, and Rivers of London. 

These highly coveted seats will be paid entry, and available to book soon. You must already be a registered attendee for Chaosium Con to book these VIP events.

Refund/Credit Policy

Because this is our first convention we are offering full refunds until December 30th, 2021. After that date there will be no refunds under any circumstances.

If you are unsure about being able to either afford or attend our show, please do not buy a badge to our show. However, we acknowledge that things happen. So, if you do buy a badge and/or special event tickets and you have to cancel after December 30th, 2021, we will credit your chaosium.com account with those amounts. The only limitation on this is that the request for a credit must be received by us by April 6th, 2022. After that, only special event ticket returns will be honored in person at the show. There will be no badge returns after this point. Again, if you are unsure that you can either afford or attend our show, please do not buy a badge.

Covid-19 Policy

Based on the current advice from Public Health and with attendee safety squarely in sight, vaccines will be required to attend Chaosium Con 2022.

Further, proof of vaccine is required to pick up your badge at Convention HQ or to purchase a badge on site. The form of proof can be your vaccine card, a copy or image of it, showing a screen from a state sponsored app displaying your vaccine history, or a letter from a medical professional certifying that you are vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus. As to masks, that will be up to the Health Department of Washtenaw County as to whether or not the county has a mask mandate at the time of the show. If there is no mask mandate in effect as of the time of the show, mask wearing is optional. Children under 5 are exempt from our vaccine requirement.

Finally, despite being vaccinated, if you are not feeling well at the time of the show, please stay home and do not attend Chaosium Con. If you become ill in the week the show starts, please notify us before Wednesday of the show by noon eastern standard time by sending us an email at conventions@chaosium.com and we will roll your badge over to the next year. This is the only way to be eligible for a roll over credit because of illness.

For your information, symptoms of Covid-19 include: Fever or chills, Cough, Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, Fatigue, Muscle or body aches, Headache, New loss of taste or smell, Sore throat, Congestion or runny nose, Nausea or vomiting, Diarrhea.

Please understand that this is not an item for debate or negotiation. We are going to follow the advice and directions from the experts at Public Health. You have the option of not attending the show if you disagree. If you are planning on attending the show you will need to follow all of the rules and conditions set forth in our policies. Thank you.

Waiver of Liability

The purchase of a Chaosium Con badge admits one person to all basic activities and exhibits at Chaosium Con during regularly scheduled hours of the convention. Some designated activities may require payment of a separate, additional fee. In accepting a badge and in consideration for being admitted to Chaosium Con, the holder consents to being recorded (by audio and/or visual means) for exhibition and exploitation by any means in all media, including without limitation the Internet, worldwide in perpetuity. The badge holder releases Chaosium Inc. from any liability for loss or damage to persons or property, infringement of any right, or any other claim or course of action of any kind; authorizes and permits Chaosium Inc. and its designees which includes but is not limited to all sponsors, exhibitors and contractors to use and authorize the use of his/her name, voice, likeness and all reproductions thereof by any means and in all media now and hereafter known, including without limitation the Internet, for all purposes worldwide in perpetuity; and agrees to comply with all the rules and regulations of the Event. Chaosium Inc. reserves the right to deny entry or remove from the Event facilities any person who in its sole and absolute discretion is behaving or threatening to behave in a manner which it reasonably considers to be disruptive of the Chaosium Con.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get a Single Day Ticket?

Not right now. We are still judging the attendance.

What about future Cons in other places?

That's certainly possible. This first con is sort of a proof of concept. Based on the success of the event and what we learn from it, we may have similar cons at different times and places, including overseas.

Will a lot of the Chaosium team be there?

Yes, many of us already have it on our calendars. We are still working on the Guest of Honor list, but it will certainly include a number of people you think of when you think of Chaosium.

What kind of events will the con feature?

The focus will be on all of Chaosium's games, past, present, and future! Lots of games, freeforms, and seminars. It's your chance to meet many of our authors, artists, and editors. Feel free to contact us with event suggestions, especially if you want to help run them.

Will there be events for children?

For the inaugural convention we will not have any events specifically for children or a child play area.
