Watch the panels from this year's Miskatonic Repository Con

Posted by Michael O'Brien on 19th Oct 2024

The Miskatonic Repository Convention is a free, annual, community-run virtual convention. It celebrates the Miskatonic Repository, Chaosium’s online collection of user-made content for the Call of Cthulhu TTRPG at DriveThruRPG. At this year's event, held earlier this month, not only were there a whole host of Call of Cthulhu games played, there were panels too! And you can watch them here:

Writing Workflows

Tips and Tools for Getting that Scenario Done. Topics include key tools and structures writers use for CoC projects; how to make progress on your scenario; how to know when you’re done.

Panelists: Ashley Warren (Storytelling Collective); Heinrich Moore; Rina Haenze; and Leslie Horn aka XPLovecat. Moderator: Evan Perlman

History & Horror

Learn how to mix real-life history into your mythos setting, including how to use and be inspired by real-life events, places, and people. Topics include how to do historical research and considerations around effective, responsible and respectful use of real history.

Panelists: Lynne Hardy; Patrick Chandler; John Crowdis; and Francis Acquarone. Moderator: Evan Perlman

Chaosium thanks the Council of Shoggoths (the Miskatonic Repository Con organising committee), all the Miskatonic Repository creators who offered their published and in-progress works to be played and talked about over the weekend, and to all the Call of Cthulhu players who took part. This was the biggest Miskatonic Repository Con in its five year history!

And we join the Council of Shoggoths in offering a huge vote of thanks to retiring convention chair Niels, and are glad to hear he’s sticking around as a creator in this most vibrant creator community he’s helped to build. We look forward to next year’s Miskatonic Repository Con, and as it is Chaosium’s 50th anniversary we will have some special surprises to offer the show…

Chaosium also thanks Council of Shoggoths member Heinrich Moore for hosting these videos.
