Significant Streams #10: Queens Court Games
Posted by Michael O'Brien on 19th Jun 2024
Significant Streams is a new feature on the Chaosium news blog where we highlight actual play streams, podcasts, and YouTube channels featuring Chaosium games that we think are worth checking out.
Queen's Court Games is a multi-award-winning actual play content team, "telling stories about broken heroes trying to save themselves, and occasionally the world."
Featuring an all-Black cast of Harlemite investigators, in the six part "Harlem Hellfighters Never Die" Queen's Court Games takes Call of Cthulhu into the iconic setting of 1920s Harlem with Chris Spivey's Harlem Unbound.
Featuring the actual play community's leading Black talent, the series spins a classic Call of Cthulhu narrative with the threads of Black history, with a story that unfolds among the oft neglected stories of Black patriotic, intellectual, and artistic excellence.
Audiences can enjoy this tale of horror, culture, and resilience on YouTube, or as a Podcast on Spotify or wherever fine podcasts are served.
Featuring Laura Tutu as Adelaide Warner, Christian McKinzie as Duane Bishop, Robert Madison II as Johnny "JB" Williams, Jas Brown as Ruby Sampson, and Noir Enigma as The Keeper.
Congratulations to Keeper Noir Enigma! Noir has been nominated for Best Chaosium Inc GM in the 2024 Crit Awards. Noir says, "Just know that there's no doubt in my mind that the only reason this is the case is because of the absolute stellar cast I had picking me up and pushing me to tell a story masterfully written by Chris Spivey of Darker Hue Studios."
For her role in "Harlem Hellfighters Never Die", Laura Tutu has also been nominated for Best Player - Chaosium too!
Furthermore, Rowan Zeoli of Rascal News interviewed the cast about the show (read here), and that too has been nominated for Best Blog or Article Written in the TTRPG space!
